Autumn, Autumn Blues Review

Gorton's Seafood sure has come a long way since I was a little girl. Just in case you have not had any Gorton's lately they now come in resealable bags and they have a wide variety of products unlike just the breaded fishsticks kids love. Some of my favorite that we have during dinner are the Lemon Herb Breaded Fillets and there Five Star Tilapia which includes their Tilapia Lemon Peppercorn Grilled Fillets. I like that I never have to worry about their seafood not tasting fresh.

Want to know something really neat? You can actually read all the Gorton's Fisherman Sea Log Entries right at Gorton's. They are also snippets of video there from Gorton's real fisherman for you to watch and get to know. Stop over and watch a short film of Gorton's port one of the oldest fishing port in Gloucester Massachusetts.

Gorton's.com has some absolutely great recipes online and my favorite is the Mini Tostadas with Wholly Guacamole & Shrimp. This recipe calls for 1 (8oz.) package of Gorton's Grilled Shrimp Scampi like the one above which we had for dinner. Gorton's also has this shrimp in a Classic version. My family and I had them with Linguini Alfredo and our meal was delicious. See below.

Gorton's Grilled Shrimp Scampi already comes marinated with real herbs and spices and flame-grilled with garlic and butter, this makes it really easy to prepare a quick meal. Especially on the days when you and your family are really busy. I just added olive oil to my pan and fried them up for 12-15 minutes just as they came.

At the same time I boiled some noodles and prepared a quick light sauce with butter and garlic. We had some Italian bread and butter on the side and we were set to eat in about 45 minutes.

Gorton's makes is simple for any family to incorporate the eating seafood twice a week which is recommended by the as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines. You can find them at MyPlate.gov.
