Northeast Region Business Manager
Basic Function: To achieve the region’s budget and distribution objectives. To assume total responsibility for all Gorton’s retail business within the Northeast region. Direct, manage, motivate, and train Gorton’s retail sales agents within the assigned markets.
Major Accountabilities:
- Sales Volume – To achieve regions sales and trade budgets by product category and in total
- Sales Agent (Management) Development – To train and evaluate performance of all pertinent sales agent personnel including executive management and to evaluate Gorton’s representation with the sales agent organization.
- Retail Merchandising – To work with the retail sales force to maximize sales of Gorton’s products to the consumer by implementing Gorton’s retail merchandising standards.
- Key Account Development
Reports to: Senior Business Manager
Qualifications Include:
- 5-8 years experience in grocery products sales industry to food or non-food accounts
- Prior people or sales agent management experience preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree education
- Different types of positions held with previous employer (i.e., several different positions that show experience and evidence of progression, yet show stability and flexibility)
- Strong record of sales achievement
- High degree of motivation to excel and win
- Aggressive attitude/high energy level & ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to recognize business building opportunities and design programs to capture them
- Familiar with consumer products tracking services (i.e., Nielsen, etc.)
- Well developed computer and analytical skills
- Strong personal and administrative disciplines
- Resides in major market within Northeast region – prefer current residence in Boston area
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to relocate for future assignments
