Salaried Employee Benefits

Incentive Plan – All salaried employees participate in an incentive pay program. Annual incentive payments are based upon Gorton’s performance, individual performance, base earnings and level of position.

Medical – Coverage for you and your eligible dependents begins on the first day of employment. Gorton's offers three medical plans all through Blue Cross Blue Shield, known as the Blue Care Elect PPO.

Dental – Outstanding dental programs that provide coverage for you and eligible dependents.

Employee Life Insurance / AD&D – Gorton’s provides 2 times base salary in Life and AD&D Insurance. You may also elect additional coverage of up to 6 times your base salary.

Dependent Life Insurance – Life insurance coverage for your spouse and dependents is available for purchase.

Disability – Employees are covered at a minimum of 65% of base salary for up to 6 months under the Salary Continuation Plan. If you are disabled longer than 6 months you may continue coverage under the Long-Term Disability Plan that is company paid, and offers you 60% of your base salary while out on disability.

Health/Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts – Employee funded pre-tax savings accounts that pay for eligible health care and/or dependent care expenses.

Retirement Plan – Company funded Defined Benefit Pension Plan. You become eligible after one full year of employment and this plan has the potential to replace approximately 35% of your income in retirement.

401K Savings Plan – Employees may contribute up to 60% pre-tax and 15% after-tax of annual base salary and incentive. Gorton’s matches 100% on first 3% and 50% on next 2%. You may choose between fourteen investment choices and you are always 100% vested in plan.

Flex-Time Schedules – Employees can choose a work schedule that matches both their personal preferences and the needs of their role. Gloucester Main Office core hours are Monday thru Friday between 9:30 and 3:00pm, with start times that range from 6:30am to 9:30am and workday end times that range from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.

Vacation – Based on length of service. Less than 5 years - 15 days; 5 to 14 years - 20 days; more than 14 years - 25 days. First year’s vacation is prorated based on hire date.

Holidays – Ten paid holidays per year.

Tuition Reimbursement – Employees are provided reimbursement for Associates, Bachelor’s and Master’s courses that are employment related.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – A confidential counseling program to help employees and their families deal with various personal problems.

Wellness Programs – A variety of programs to help employees make healthy choices and help identify health risks.  

Child Care Resource and Referral Program – Resource available to assist in locating child care, and provides information on fun year round activities for families.

Discount Programs – The company offers several discounted programs including: discounts to theme parks, museums, fitness centers, product purchases and more.

Company Store – Employees can purchase Gorton’s products at a discounted price.

Making A Difference in the Community – Community service projects are staffed by employees who team up with co-workers to make a difference at non-profit organizations.

Employment is contingent upon a favorable physical exam that includes a screening for chemical dependency and substance abuse, a criminal background check to verify information provided on the job application, and reference checking. 

A “business casual” dress code is observed at Gorton’s Main Office.

Smoking is prohibited at all Gorton’s locations.
