Your Heart Will Love Seafood

Seafood benefits more than just brain development. Omega-3, found in seafood, helps the hearts of both healthy people and those at high risk of – or who have – heart disease. The links between omega-3 fatty acids and heart disease risk reduction are still being studied, but research has shown many benefits including reduced inflammation, a known cause of heart disease and stroke.

Diets rich in seafood may also decrease blood pressure, triglycerides, and cholesterol levels, improve eye health and reduce joint pain and arthritis. It’s no wonder the USDA, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and American Diabetes Association all recommend eating seafood at least
twice a week.
