Our five year old Camille is a finicky eater and did not share the love for seafood as other members in our family. In being an observer of Camille, I learn that she was more receptive to trying new foods while at daycare with her friends. So I presented the following idea to her preschool teacher: Every Friday, for one month, I would provide Camille's class a seafood item from Gorton's, one usually eaten at home. And since there were no children in her classroom allergic too seafood I did not have to provide and alternative dish. Camille was more receptive to eating the seafood in the surroundings of her classmates, friends while her teacher read a book. In particular, the kids enjoyed fish sticks and chocolate milk, a favorite of Lilly - the main character- in "Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse". This classroom experience provided Camille with some happy memories of eating seafood while being with her friends. In addition to providing us with some talking points for trying other seafood dishes. Success all around.
