Entrepreneurial Spirit
At Gorton's, we want to create an entrepreneurial organization that operates as if you and I had created it.
If you and I were to start our own company, we would:
- select an industry that we each had an interest in and one where we felt there was tremendous opportunity
- share a vision of what success looked like
- not rely on traditional organizational structures or elaborate job descriptions
- identify what needed to get done and the talents that each of us possesses, then we'd divide up the work in the way that got things done easily and quickly
- be more concerned with getting things done than when we would get promoted, recognized or rewarded
- have a very low tolerance for process, procedure and bureaucracy
- recognize the importance of being more innovative than others
- expect there to be tremendous challenges to overcome
- recognize the importance of each individual being successful before our organization could be successful
- understand that success would require a high level of personal commitment from each of us
- realize that growth and rewards would come as a result of business success
