Entrepreneurial Spirit

« back to careers

At Gorton's, we want to create an entrepreneurial organization that operates as if you and I had created it.

If you and I were to start our own company, we would:

  • select an industry that we each had an interest in and one where we felt there was tremendous opportunity
  • share a vision of what success looked like
  • not rely on traditional organizational structures or elaborate job descriptions
  • identify what needed to get done and the talents that each of us possesses, then we'd divide up the work in the way that got things done easily and quickly
  • be more concerned with getting things done than when we would get promoted, recognized or rewarded
  • have a very low tolerance for process, procedure and bureaucracy
  • recognize the importance of being more innovative than others
  • expect there to be tremendous challenges to overcome
  • recognize the importance of each individual being successful before our organization could be successful
  • understand that success would require a high level of personal commitment from each of us
  • realize that growth and rewards would come as a result of business success
